Lotos's support went off to Cracow in strenght of about 40 throats.
Today we have our Polish 3rd May Constitution Day - our equivalent of yours 4th July, so it's free of work day. Guys went out
today morning, the game starts at 6.30pm (so about 12.30pm your time, I don't know which time zone Minnessota is) There will probably be a live coverage in internet - if not a video stream then live stats as from euroleague. I'll give you the links as soon as they appear.
Lately we have played more over our post players - Sarenac and Ewka, because Biba is being guarded perfectly by Trafimova. And they seem to handle it very well since Braxton (yes she's back in Cracow!) plays like a schoolgirl in defence. And if we can hit a few 3pt's which we struggled last few games everything will be good.
The refs in Poland are total crap. Since the semifinals third ref has been added and it helped a littlebit, but not much. I can't really tell if they help home side because mainly they don't help anybody's nerves for sure. We shall see how it goes

Dennis gave a very big clue as to which driver he would like to retain in 2006.
Asked how his drivers did, you would think that he would talk about the driver who got on the podium first. Not a bit of it, Ron immediately started talking about 5th placed Kimi's race.
Ron's view was that Kimi's botched qualifying lap cost the team an even better result, though 3rd and 4th looked to be the only places up for grabs
today.

This is a great documentary about one of today's more recognizable character actors, Danny Trejo. If you don't
know his background, this is definitely a film you should see. From his earliest days, trouble always seemed to find
Danny. The fact that the man is still alive, much less succeeding so well, is a testament to the endurance of the
human spirit. With interviews from Dennis Hopper, Val Kilmer, Robert Rodriguez, Steve Buscemi, and many more of
Danny's co-stars and directors. I saw this at the 2005 Phoenix Film Festival and thought that it was the best thing
there. I don't know if this has been picked up or not, but if you can find it anywhere, it's worth a look for
sure.

Yesterday we lost 70:88 playing terrible defence,
today we just won 73:56 with Biba hitting 7/11 3pt and Ewka Kobryn netting 12/14 from the floor. With that and way better defence the win was easy. Now we are coming to play two games in Gdynia (22/23.04). We have to come back to Cracow since it's a best-of-7 contest.

Denis Kang has signed a four-fight deal with the UFC, American Top Team General Manager Richie Guerriero
today confirmed with MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com).
Kang, 31, will likely make his octagon debut in early 2009.
"I just think timing wise, it was a good point in his career (to sign with the UFC)," Guerriero said. "He's always had his eye on the UFC, but with his commitment to SpiritMC, and with him fighting for PRIDE at the time, it just never happened."
Kang, a Canadian of Korean-French descent, was a top star with SpiritMC, a South Korean-based fight promotion. Kang won the organization's heavyweight (80+ kg) title in September 2004 and cited his desire to fight for the organization as a stumbling block in previous UFC negotiations.
"SpiritMC was only asking that I fight for them once a year," Kang said back in April. "That's one of the things that I really, really wanted to do -- to keep my SpiritMC title and keep my fan base in Korea, which is really important to me."
However, Guerriero and Kang knew the 10-year fight vet was missing out on publicity and sponsorship opportunities closer to home.
"With the UFC being what it is, I think
Denis knew it was a good time to get some exposure here in America," said Guerriero, whose popular ATT facility is located in Coconut Creek, Fla.
Although Guerriero didn't know the particulars of the deal, he said it would be unlikely for Kang to continue fighting for SpiritMC "just based on the way [the UFC] has always done things," he said, referring to the organization's exclusive contracts.
Kang, the 2006 PRIDE welterweight grand prix runner-up, had emerged as a top-five-ranked middleweight during a 23-fight undefeated streak from April 2003 to November 2006. However, he then suffered three losses in a four-fight span, which included a first-round submission defeat to Gegard Mousasi in the opening round of the 2008 DREAM middleweight grand prix earlier this year.
However, Kang has since rebounded for back-to-back victories, which included a 48-second TKO of Marvin Eastman at an Oct. 25 Raw Combat event.

Arshavin Agent Hints At January Sale
When Juande Ramos recruited a Russian striker many assumed it would be
Andrei Arshavin and not Roman Pavyluchenko. Reports today suggest that the
Spurs' manager wanted both players, and Arshavin may even link up with his
national strike partner in the January transfer window...
Two out of the three parties wanted the deal: Tottenham Hotspur, and the
player - Andrei Arshavin. The third though - Zenit St Petersburg were
holding out for more money, a sum that the north London club failed to meet
in time to recruit the player by the deadline of midnight on the 1st of
September.
However, Denis Lachter - Arshavin's agent - believes the deal is still on,
and the playmaking attacker may even be able to link up with Tottenham in
the next transfer window to supplement their forward line.
Zenit were not happy with the payment structure of the transfer fee over
several years and the fact Tottenham resumed talks so late, Lachter is
quoted by Setanta Sports as saying.
They came back at the dawn of the closure of the Russian transfer window
and that would not have left Zenit enough time to find a replacement, he
said.
However, [Zenit president, Alexander] Dyukov said that if Tottenham are
still interested in buying Arshavin then we can revisit the subject when
the
winter transfer window opens in January.
Danny Alves, a L25million summer transfer, was favoured over Arshavin in
the
recent Uefa Super Cup. It was widely assumed by many that Alves would be
Arshavin's replacement.

The statement released on Friday revealed that, after discussions, it had been decided ‘it would be in the best interests of both parties to bring the relationship to an end’.
Although Alonso won four races during the 2007 season, and finished third in the championship battle, relations between the Spaniard and McLaren had become increasingly strained in recent months.
“Everybody at Vodafone McLaren Mercedes, especially McLaren’s Spanish Partners Banco Santander and Mutua Madrilena and the team’s title partner Vodafone, want to wish Fernando all the best for the future,” said team principal Ron Dennis.
“He is a great driver but for some reason the combination of Vodafone McLaren Mercedes and Fernando has not really worked out, and in the end we reached a stage where none of us could find a way to move forward. We all believe that our joint decision to part company is for the best, and we will now continue to focus on our 2008 World Championship challenge.”
For his part, Alonso said that, although he never really felt at home at McLaren, he still believed they were a great squad.

Zazel, po pierwsze, ja nic nie pisałem o Ralfie i o tym co Frank i wogóle.
Po drugie, pisząc o tym, że Davidek nie jeździ równo, nie pisałem nic, że miałem na myśli tylko trzy pierwsze GP w 2003.

The pair did battle in the opening stages of the race in a show that would have delighted their proud mother Elisabeth, but tactics saw the younger sibling's race tail away in the latter stages. The deterioration of his mother's health was another blow in a difficult season but Ralf, who showed his emotions at the Italian Grand Prix in 2001 after the terrorist attacks on New York, impressed Williams with his strength of character this weekend.
"Ralf was the one who just came back and got on with it," said Williams. "We'd known about the condition of their mother for the last week or more and it was always touch and go. But you have to be 100 percent committed on what you are doing if you are going to race a Formula One car in a Grand Prix in these circumstances. He is a sensitive person. We saw that at the time of 9/11 but maybe then it was the shock of it - there was no shock this time. It was very difficult for the two boys and there were at least a couple of occasions when she had stopped breathing so they were completely prepared and they knew what was happening."

Kimi:"Despite not winning I'm really pleased as we now have a package which is level with the Renaults which I think we demonstrated today," said Raikkonen. "The race was rather hectic. I enjoyed a good battle with Juan Pablo at the start, but when I overtook Jenson I flatspotted my right front tyre which caused some vibration. However I was still able to go flat out and keep up with Fernando, but then all of a sudden the footplate on the right hand side of my front wing fractured probably due to the vibration. As a result I started to have severe understeer and lost a lot of time to Fernando. Fortunately with 21 laps to go the Safety Car came out which gave us enough time to go into the pits and change the front wing. I was really pushing, but in the final Safety Car period one of the Midland cars was between Fernando and I, which meant I was unable to get really close to have a go. An enjoyable race and I can't wait for Imola. The team has definitely made great progress with our entire package."
Montoya commented, "There was a lot going on in the race today. As we were lining up on the grid I made a mistake and spun the car. Fortunately the start was aborted, and I was able to take up my original start position in fifth spot. However during the first Safety Car period I had another spin which cost me two positions. Overall I found it rather challenging getting the grip into the tyres today and the four Safety Car periods didn't make it easier. I think I could have finished on the podium, but as I was pushing to get past Ralf I hit the kerb at the start of the straight and went into a bit of a wobble but managed to save it. Unfortunately the impact activated a default system which switched off the engine and that was the end of my race. It's a real shame as our package felt fantastic throughout the weekend. We can definitely go into the start of the European season with lots of confidence."
Team chief Ron Dennis added, "The early part of the race was exciting as once Kimi was past Button, he had the pace to catch Fernando. Juan Pablo's retirement was caused by the activation of the engine safety system following a severe impact on the kerb clearly costing him third place. Kimi's race was disrupted by a flatspotted tyre obtained whilst passing Button resulting in severe vibration that led to a failure of the right hand front wing endplate. Towards the end of the race we took advantage of one of the Safety Car deployments to change the nose which gave Kimi the ability to close the gap to Fernando. It was also disappointing that both Kimi and Juan Pablo were trapped behind slower cars in two of the re-starts but at the end of the day we have the pace to win and this time last year our points deficit was significantly greater. As a team we look forward to returning to Europe and continuing the battle."
Mercedes motorsport chief Norbert Haug concluded, "Kimi gave it his all. Unfortunately he was hampered by a flatspotted tyre and a damaged part of the front wing. Once the nose was changed he demonstrated good speed. Juan Pablo hit a kerb too hard which caused his retirement. Alex, która dowiedziała się o Davis'ie od Carlosa, również się martwi. Na szczęście dla wszystkich Davis wyjdzie z tego. Ty rozmawia o tym co się stało z Sullym. Nie obwinia go o to - to nie była jego wina, takie rzeczy się zdarzają, choć trzeba przyznać ma lekki żal do partnera...
Ross natomiast nie ma szans na przeżycie. Wiadomo o tym już na miejscu wypadku, jednak Bosco bardzo ciężko to przeżywa, więc Doc i Carlos decydują się udawać, że są jakieś szanse na uratowanie mu życia. Nie chcą bowiem, by Bosco jeszcze bardziej się załamał.
Z kolei nowy partner Faith - Gulser - bardzo ciężko przeżywa strzelaninę i zastanawia się czy kiedykolwiek jeszcze wróci do pracy...
Natomiast sama Faith jest zszokowana faktem, że zabiła człowieka, by chronić Bosco i wcale się tym nie przejęła...
Ta strzelanina bardzo mocno na wszystkich podziałała. Najgorsze było jednak to, że nie można było zamknąć odpowiedzialnego za to rosyjskiego mafiozę Chevchenko, ponieważ jeden ze świadków zostaje zamordowany, a Tatiana nie chce zeznawać w obawie, że coś złego może przydarzyć się jej lub Sergejowi... Sully nie jest w stanie jej przekonać, gdyż żona znika bez slowa...
Sprawa Doc'a, który cały czas martwil się czy nie straci pracy, wyjaśnia się dzięki Jerry'emu, który zadbał o to, by obciążające przyjaciela fragmenty nagrania zostały wycięte. Niestety, przyjaźń Doc'a i Jerry'ego już nigdy nie będzie taka sama...

A co się działo potem...
Biedny Bosco (widać, że bardzo przeżył śmierć Ross'a)... Najbardziej mi było go żal jak mówił do Carlosa, tak delikatnie, niemal ze łzami w oczach: Do something ;( i potem jak rozmawiał ze Swerskym. Straszne.
Poza tym biedny Gusler... Też ciężko to przeżył, ale dobrze, że on, w przeciwieństwie do Bosco, nie trzyma tego w sobie (co pokazuje scena w szatni).
No i Sully... Widać było, że się martwił. Szkoda tylko, że Maggie tak paskudnie się zachowała, dając mu w twarz! Przecież to nie jego wina!
Yokas natomiast bardzo mi się podobała w tym odcinku. Jakaś taka fajna była dla Bosco i Gulsera i w ogóle
Podobało mi się to co powiedziała do Doca, widać było, że zależy jej na Bosco:
Yokas: Hey Doc, Thanks for pretending like there was something that could be done for Ross.
A i dobrze, że sprawa Doc'a się wyjaśniła. :]
Nie podobała mi się za to postawa Tatiany. Czemu nie chciała zeznawać? Wiem, że mafia jest bardzo niebezpieczna, ale moim zdaniem powinna zaryzykować...

Today nazwał ją jedną z najbardziej ekscytujących artystek średniego pokolenia. Jej sposób grania na gitarze przywodzi na myśl Jimiego Hendriksa, Buddy'ego Guy'a, Freddiego Kinga, Alberta Collinsa i Larry'ego Carltona. Jej śpiew porównywano do tego Patti Smith, Bessie Smith, Janis Joplin, Memphis Minnie i Alberty Hunter.
Coleman urodziła się w 1956 roku w Portsmouth w stanie Wirginia, a wychowywała w San Diego, San Francisco, Waszyngtonie i w okolicach Chicago. Muzykowanie było w jej domu rodzinną tradycją: ojciec grał na pianinie, a bracia na gitarach. Dzięki temu Deborah po raz pierwszy zaczęła grać na gitarze w wieku ośmiu lat. Odbyła też krótki "romans" z gitarą basową, na której jako nastolatka grała w zespołach rhythm'n'bluesowych. Jednak miłość do gitary zwyciężyła. Nastoletnia Deborah była fanką zespołów rockowych, jak the Yardbirds, Cream, czy Led Zeppelin, i to właśnie te grupy doprowadziły ją do korzeni rocka, czyli do bluesa.
W dwudziestym pierwszym roku życia doznała bluesowego "oświecenia". Miało to miejsce na koncercie, podczas którego po raz pierwszy w życiu usłyszała Howlin'a Wolfa, Muddy'ego Watersa i Johna Lee Hookera. Ale po czterech latach wyszła za mąż, urodziła córeczkę, i zaczęła pracować jako elektryk. Dopiero w 1993 roku przyszła szansa na powrót do muzyki: Coleman postanowiła wziąć udział w konkursie organizowanym przy festiwalu bluesowym w mieście Charleston. Jej ówczesny zespół tworzyli brat i jego kolega. Obydwaj mieli doświadczenie w graniu muzyki, a konkretnie... heavy metalu. Jednak po tygodniu prób zdążyli nauczyć się piosenek na tyle, że Deborah zdołała swą sceniczną haryzmą powalić jury konkursu na łopatki. Oczywiście wygrała, dostając w nagrodę czas nagraniowy w profesjonalnym studiu. Wykorzystała go na stworzenie demo, które po roku zaowocowało debiutanckim albumem. "Takin' a Stand" został nagrany już nie z bratem i kolegą, ale z towarzyszeniem nowopowstałego zespołu z Deborah w roli liderki.
Od tego czasu nagrała dziesięć płyt, i zjechała cały świat, koncertując zarówno na czele własnego zespołu, jak i wspólnie z innymi artystkami - jak podczas trasy "Blues Caravan: Guitar'd and Feathered" organizowanej przez wytwórnię Ruf. Gdy dziś ogląda się na scenie Deborah - świetną gitarzystkę, utalentowaną wokalistkę, opanowaną i kompetentną liderkę, z wdziękiem szefującą towarzyszącym jej mężczyznom - aż trudno uwierzyć, że przez lata trzymała się z daleka od przemysłu muzycznego. Deborah Coleman sprawia na scenie wrażenie, jakby spędziła na niej całe życie!

decades of hurt

Jan Korzeniowski can still recall the pain of Polish forces not being
allowed to take part in the victory parade celebrating the end of the second
world war in 1945. The former soldier, now aged 88 and living on the south
coast of England, says: "It was very painful. Some soldiers were in tears.
Stalin didn't want us there and the British government agreed. That was
wrong."
Only now is the UK government starting to recognise the insult to one
of its strongest allies by trying to make amends for war-related slights as
Europe redefines itself. Historians point to the enlargement of the European
Union and Nato as a return from a modern idea of Europe bounded by western
confines to the traditional continent stretching to the Ural mountains and
Turkey. Stanislaw Komorowski, Polish ambassador to London, says: "It's
extremely important to see all these developments as a final closure of the
chapter that I would call the division of Europe, and a very unjust division
at that."
Norman Davies, the historian and author of Rising '44 on the Warsaw
uprising, due to be published next month, says that Poland's place in
history is being reassessed as it finds a more formal position in Europe.
"The minute these countries [involved in EU enlargement] come back into the
fold, then they are not only seen to be positive allies today but their
history becomes part of our history."
Aleksander Kwasniewski, Polish president, said recently: "The
accession to the European Union for Poland is the fulfilment of the dreams
of many generations."

After Kobe Bryant and Ron Artest got into that "war of words" in March back in Houston, I asked Kobe what he really thought of Artest.
"We're friends," Kobe said, "I like him a lot--like his game--always have."
Then he told me a story that makes
today's news--Artest is supposedly on his way to LA for three years, $18 million--very likely to happen.
Kobe said that after the Lakers lost game six of the '08 NBA Finals in Boston by 39 points, he was alone in the shower, just fuming. He heard somebody walk in and assumed it was one of his teammates, or maybe a staff member. Instead, he looked up, and it was Ron Artest (to this day, Kobe has no idea how Artest got into the locker room).
"I want to come help you," Artest said. "If I can, I'm going to find a way to come to LA and give you the help you need to win a title."
Kobe didn't think much of it, especially since Artest still had a year left on his deal with the Rockets, and that the Lakers were returning an entire team that had just won the Western Conference. Plus, players talk like that a lot, and it's just talk. But it struck Kobe as a nice gesture, especially since he had just been hammered by the Celtics and nobody was saying much of anything. Kobe told me that the perception a lot of people have of Artest is wrong.
"He competes....every night, every play," Kobe said. "I've known him since high school and he's always been like that."
Kobe found it strange that some people in the media were portraying he and Artest as enemies.
"He wants to win as much as I do...and I respect him--a lot."
When you consider that Artest and Lamar Odom grew up playing together in New York, this move makes a ton of sense. Artest gets to play with two good friends, for a coach that has always spoken highly of him.
Over the years, I've often asked Phil Jackson specifically about Artest's "colorful" nature. Phil never takes the bait, always shifting the conversation to something about how competitive Artest always is. He speaks of Artest the same way he speaks of
Dennis Rodman. You'll rarely hear Phil comment on how weird Rodman was, just that he adjusted to the team culture once he came to town. I imagine that if the Artest deal goes through, he'll treat Ron much the same way.
By the way, if the rumored deal was to go through, it leaves the Lakers with even more money to keep Odom. Think about this: they would be getting Artest for less money than Charlie Villanueva just signed for in Detroit. Trust me, there isn't anybody who knows basketball who would rather have Villanueva than Artest. The only downside to this deal is that the it leaves no room on the roster for Trevor Ariza, who was been fantastic in his time with the Lakers. But truth be told, Ariza and Artest play the same position, and Ariza didn't want to play for that money. ESPN is already reporting that Ariza has agreed to sign in Houston to replace Artest.
Final note: none of this is done. League rules don't allow any players to sign free agent contracts until next week, and a lot can happen between now and then. But based on what I know about Artest and the way he feels about the Lakers, I'd say it's more likely to happen than not.
